Things That Changed My Life

Okay, I might be exaggerating too much on the title. The things that I’m going to show you guys are definitely things that improved my life, maybe not in a really major way, but a more simpler way.

Glasses. Okay so story time, one day my family and I were on a road trip and we were just messing around. My dad told me to close one of my eyes and try to read one of the signs from outside, it was blurry. That was in August, and ever since I started wearing contacts and glasses, my life took a 180 degree turn. Although I barely wear my contacts, I can see a major difference when I wear them and when I don’t.

I didn’t know lash primer was even a thing, until one day at Sephora the cashier person told me that I had enough points to get this lash primer. My eyelashes have never looked so beautiful. It’s basically white mascara, it creates an illusion of longer and fuller lashes when you apply your regular mascara. I use it with the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced and it completes the makeup look amazingly. If you don’t feel like spending money or points on this, I’ve heard that white translucent power works fine as well.

I have talked about this brush a few blog posts ago, and I still feel like I need to talk more about it. If you are looking for brushes to really improve your eyeshadow looks, then get this brush, or something similar. This is a crease brush, a more stiff kind of brush, not fluffy. This is perfect to create more depth for your crease, and to concentrate more color there. The one I have is from Sephora, and it works perfectly. Although, when cleaning it be more gentle because it may flare out the bristles and ruin the whole point of this brush.

Again, I have mentioned this primer more than once on my blog. I sadly finished this primer, definitely my favorite. You could either wear this alone or under any eyeshadow, it makes the color pop and makes it last longer than usual. If you want to know more about it, then check out my Lid Primer Battle.

Lid Primer Battle

Previous Battle

As promised from my last post, I’m going to be comparing the Urban Decay primer with the Smashbox primer, these two are definitely my favorite, so it’s going to be hard to choose.

Sorry for the lack of photos, my battery for my camera decided to die the last minute and I totally forgot to bring the charger.

I love Smashbox, so whenever I’m looking for something I always head to the Smashbox section in Sephora. When I first got the primer I fell in love, the consistency and the feeling on my lids was beyond amazing. It had amazing coverage, so it covered all those random veins that we have on our lids and it left a smooth finish to it. What’s great about this primer is that you don’t need to set it, you know how sometimes we set primers by applying any light shade eyeshadow? Well this primer, you don’t need to. And also it makes your eyeshadow pop like crazy, which I’m obsessed with.

All great products have some downsides to them, for example, if you don’t immediately act after you spread this on your lids, it will create these “harsh lines” around your tear ducts and wherever you have yet to blend. It gets really annoying so you have to blend right after you have put some on your lid. The second thing I noticed was how heavy weighted it is, although it is super comfortable, it still feels a bit too much on your lids. But other than that, I really love this primer.

Urban Decay:

I have mixed feeling with Urban Decay as a whole, I have some of their eyeshadow palettes and I don’t know what to think of them. Anyway, I at first disliked this primer. I felt like it didn’t really cover up my veins and it was giving me very little product. So I have to squeeze out of the bottle to get some. But what I really like about this is how light weight it is, it’s not as thick or as heavy like Smashbox, which is a great thing cause we’re all about comfortability right? My eyeshadow also looked amazing, and it stays on all day long.

Just like Smashbox, this is obviously going to have some downsides to it. You know when you smile, your lids get all creased up or whatever? Yeah it feels weird when you do that when you have this primer on. I feel like it makes my lids all stiff which isn’t really the best thing in the world. And just how like I mentioned before about giving me very little product, which is a downside. And lastly, you have to set it. Even though setting it is like a two second step, it’s still a step that I have to do or the primer is going to get all creased up and my eyeshadow won’t blend easily. So yeah, but all in all I really liked it.

If I had to choose one for the rest of my life, I would go with the Smashbox primer.

Makeup Must Haves

A beginner or not, I feel like these types of posts are really helpful. Either they give you a head start on what makeup products to buy, or just simply if you’re looking for something new or interesting. This post will consist of products that I think not only will make your makeup look better, but also help it last longer. So without further ado, let’s just get into this post.

Lid primers are definitely something you need to add on to your makeup routine. The first few days I did my makeup without any primer was a total nightmare. My eyeshadow would be a complete mess, my eyeshadows won’t blend in properly and the pigmentation that the makeup brand promises does not show any effect. You can either just use the lid primer and go straight to eyeshadow, or what I like to do is to set it using any light shade eyeshadow and this will help to make eyeshadow blending much easier and faster.

Smashbox Lid Primer

I would use my  beauty blender like a crazy woman when trying to blend in my lid primer. I would just stab my lid which results in hurting my eyeball, and it would leave streaks and it did just did not look good at all. I was so fed up with hurting my eyeballs that I just took my foundation brush and used it. This technique changed my life completely. It left off a smooth finish to my lids, and it was soft. Even though this is a foundation brush, it will help to blend in any cream products giving a perfect finish look.

Kat Von D Foundation Brush #10

If you don’t like liquid foundation or any foundation in a bottle really, then this product is targeting you. We’ve been across compact powders, which is basically powder that is compacted. A lot of you guys might be wondering, powders can barely have enough coverage. I though the same thing, but we thought wrong. This Smashbox powder gives you enough coverage, not too much, just enough. It helps to give off that natural look, making sure not to cover everything, because what’s natural in that? And sometimes i just like to use this to set anything really.

Smashbox Compact Foundation Powder

Speaking of setting powders, I’m pretty sure a lot of you guys have heard great reviews about the Laura Mercier setting powder and so on and so forth. So I’m not going to go into too much detail, because we all know that it does it’s job and it’s great and everyone needs it. But this powder really does brighten up my face, my face goes from dead to alive in two seconds, well technically 5 minutes. Gotta love baking you know?

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I know you’re all probably over the powder products but I promise you that this is the last one. Blush is important, whether you’re going for a natural look or a night out look, you need blush. Not only are the blushes just so pretty, but it will give color to your face. That’s all I have to say about blushes.

NARS Orgasm Blush

As promised, we’re over the powder products. It’s time for some more eye products. If you have small eyes, then you would know the struggle of trying to figure out how to make them look bigger. Searching high and low on Youtube until beauty gurus start saying to use a white color for your water line. I did exactly that but I saw no result whatsoever. I decided to try out a black one, I finally realized what I was missing in my makeup look. So if you still have not tried it out, then get your hands on it or something similar.

Tarte Lash Liner

Last but certainly not least, eye liner. Just like I said before about how those products complete the look, this is the same thing. If you were to compare last month’s winged eyeliner to today, then you would see a drastic change. And all thanks to this eye liner, this eye liner is great for beginners. I have tried multiple eyeliners, but this one is the best. It glides on very easily, and doesn’t move around. So if you have shaky hands, like me, then this eyeliner is perfect for you.

Smashbox Review

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog!

The long awaited reviews are finally starting to roll in! My last post (Sephora Haul) I told you guys that I will be giving you my honest and full review. You guys seem to like that idea so without further ado, let’s get on to the review.

Lets start of with the primer, I’ve heard a lot of great reviews about this primer and I didn’t really think of it much until I bought it. This is the type of product where the phrase “Little goes a long way” is appropriate for it. The product is in this off-white color, but once applied on skin it is transparent.

The cap is matte while the rest of the bottle has that glossy effect, very simple packaging which I think is great for traveling.

Next up is this compact powder. I have very oily skin and to add in liquid foundation, it’s going to be a mess. So my mother suggested on using compact powders and they still have amazing coverage. Quick warning, don’t put too much because your face will look very powdery and not that pleasant.

The whole palette or box is matte, and as you can see in the last picture, they give you a sponge which works great. You just need to push the mirror back a bit more and the powder will pop open and the sponge is there.

This concealer really does it’s job. I use the huge triangle method, which really helps cover up my dark under eye circle and the redness on my cheeks. The applicator is pretty good, and all you have to do to get the product out is to twist the bottom. I also use this on my forehead, and my upper lip.

The packaging is pretty simple, the information you need is in the front and the color is matte black.

This lid primer is just like any other, there’s nothing that special about it. My eyelids don’t show the veins so I’m not sure if this will help to cover it but I’m pretty sure it will because it is super tinted and concealing. Lid primers are important because not only will the eye shadows help to last longer but also it will help show the pigmentation of the color much stronger..? You know what I mean.

The applicator is like your ordinary lip gloss or liquid lipstick, the cap is matte black and the rest of the tube has a slight glossy feeling towards it.

I still have not tried out this product, but I did do a swatch by myself, I was just checking out the colors and these are super pigmented. They’re blushes by the way. I would probably use the second one as a blush and the third one as a highlighter because I feel like the first one is super pink, and it does not suit my skin.

The packaging is very simple, the palette look is very simple and the color is matte black.

I tried this at Sephora and it worked great. This is a color correcting stick in the shade green, and according to Smashbox this is great for redness and as I have mentioned before, I got some redness on my cheeks that I would love to conceal.

The packaging has a glossy feel to it, even the cap. It is a jumbo stick and I’m pretty sure it’s the stick your sharpen because I couldn’t see anything that could be twisted or whatever to get the product out.

I have been wanting Smashbox’s liquid lipsticks ever since Youtubers got a package that was filled with it. I recently noticed that brown/orange mixed colors suit me the best so I was looking for those shades and I found those two pretty shades.

The first one is called Driver’s Seat, and it’s more on the pinky side, but still has that orangey brown feel to it. The second one is called Out Loud, I personally like Driver’s Seat better but this shade is more one the orange side.

The applicator threw me off a bit, there is a whole in the middle of it and I’m so confused as to why there is a whole. (Tell me in the comments if you know why!) What I really liked about the applicator was the pointy side at the top. It really helped with lining the lips, because I couldn’t seem to find a liner that fit with those liquid lipstick.

The packaging is super simple and cute, and it’s amazing for traveling because it’s not that big and chunky.

Sorry for the horrible, and dull backgrounds but I’m currently at hotels because I’m traveling. I’m in Orlando right now, which is basically my second home.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed. All the love.

Sephora Haul

*A general idea of what I got from Sephora, no in depth pictures or detailed reviews, that is all for later. *

Warning: Sephora is a very addicting place to shop, shop at your own risk. The fact that Sephora opened up at Downtown Disney (or Disney Springs) is a huge deal. I go there almost everyday, and since Sephora is now open there, just praying for my mom and I’s wallets.

Anyways, lets get into this haul. Liquid lipsticks are a huge thing now, and Smashbox has the best ones. I got two liquid lipsticks, they’re both on the brown and orange side (I’m doing a Smashbox Review soon so stay tuned.) I also got those compact powders from them as well, I got in the shade “Light”. My mom suggested that powder foundation is better than liquid foundation for oily skin people, and she was right. To list of other things I got from Smashbox:

  • Face Primer
  • Lid Primer
  • BB Cream Under eye concealer

I stopped at the Benefit section and got the famous Porefessional, as well as the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner. I also decided to pop in the Too Faced section and omg the liquid lipsticks though. Heaven on Earth. I got the shade Child Star. (Will be doing a full on detail review on all these products.)

I got two lipstick brushed because I have been really wanting them in a very long time, they’re both from Sephora, nothing too special. I got a smaller version of the Beauty Blender (not those really tiny mini ones) but when I got back to the hotel, someone apparently opened the packaging so that sucks.

You know the cashier section line where you do your last minute shopping, my mom found these two glues, I wanna say, for when you are doing nail art, very similar to Simply Peel. I forgot to include the Origins masks, they had a 6 for $24 dollars thing going on. (They’re sample sized not the full ones)

If you are in there award thing system then you know all about the points, we had a lot of points and usually there is nothing that decent to use your points for but I saw the Tarte box and decided to try it out. So I’m not really sure if it is on sale.

A review will be coming up very soon, thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed. All the love.
