Things That Changed My Life

Okay, I might be exaggerating too much on the title. The things that I’m going to show you guys are definitely things that improved my life, maybe not in a really major way, but a more simpler way.

Glasses. Okay so story time, one day my family and I were on a road trip and we were just messing around. My dad told me to close one of my eyes and try to read one of the signs from outside, it was blurry. That was in August, and ever since I started wearing contacts and glasses, my life took a 180 degree turn. Although I barely wear my contacts, I can see a major difference when I wear them and when I don’t.

I didn’t know lash primer was even a thing, until one day at Sephora the cashier person told me that I had enough points to get this lash primer. My eyelashes have never looked so beautiful. It’s basically white mascara, it creates an illusion of longer and fuller lashes when you apply your regular mascara. I use it with the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced and it completes the makeup look amazingly. If you don’t feel like spending money or points on this, I’ve heard that white translucent power works fine as well.

I have talked about this brush a few blog posts ago, and I still feel like I need to talk more about it. If you are looking for brushes to really improve your eyeshadow looks, then get this brush, or something similar. This is a crease brush, a more stiff kind of brush, not fluffy. This is perfect to create more depth for your crease, and to concentrate more color there. The one I have is from Sephora, and it works perfectly. Although, when cleaning it be more gentle because it may flare out the bristles and ruin the whole point of this brush.

Again, I have mentioned this primer more than once on my blog. I sadly finished this primer, definitely my favorite. You could either wear this alone or under any eyeshadow, it makes the color pop and makes it last longer than usual. If you want to know more about it, then check out my Lid Primer Battle.

Favorite Lippies (2)

I decided to do another favorite lip products post because why not? You can never have too many favorite lippies. Two of them I have mentioned before that I really liked them, one of them is a new addition, and the last one I got like 3 years ago and never wore it.

The first one is a lip gloss, and I have talked about this lip gloss countless times. This is the Tara by Anastasia Beverly Hills. The consistency is amazing, and the quality is beyond amazing. It’s very comfortable, so you don’t need to worry about your hair constantly getting stuck to it. I never really like lip glosses, but the ones from Anastasia are to die for. I really like this shade because it is a very neutral shade, for me, it’s an everyday shade. I could wear this color for any look and it will complete the whole look. I definitely recommend.

If you have read my latest post, you would know that my favorite lip kit by Kylie is most definitely Posie K. I am a sucker for dark colors, and this is literally the perfect shade for dark pink. It’s not too dark or too pink, just perfect. This is my go to matte lipstick, in my opinion, I think it matches every look perfectly. But that always depends on what you like and what you don’t like.

I recently just got this metal matte by Kylie, and I am already obsessed. Very similar to her other lip kits, except this one is more creamier (if that makes sense at all). Comparing it to her other lip kits, this one doesn’t feel to dry on your lips. Her other lip kits is sometimes too uncomfortable to wear because of how dry it gets, but this one is perfect. It also lasts through the whole day, even when eating and drinking. I got the shade ‘Reign’ which I think is the best compared to the other two metals.

I bought this Sephora lipstick 3 or 4 years ago, when my I was somewhat interested in makeup but that faded quickly after a few days now. (wow look at me now) While writing this I realized that it is somewhat similar to Posie K, except a bit lighter. They both have somewhat the same pink shade, and they’re both matte. i really like this lipstick because it’s very comfortable to wear, sometimes I forget that I’m even wearing it. Although, if you put more than one layer then when you rub your lips together, it will start to create clumps and everything’s a mess. So only put one layer, cause then you’re good to go.

Josie Maran Who?

You know when Sephora sends you emails and they’re like, “Oh hey we just released this thing that you should waste $200 on”. Yeah, these masks were one of those items in the email. But I can say that these masks are definitely worth every penny, like no joke. I sometimes use it before school, after school, (wish I could say during school) and before I go to sleep. So without further ado, let’s just jump into this post.

So as you can see from the first picture, they come in a set of 5. I read a review about them a month ago, (not going to say who it was) but they were like, “Oh they’re all the same thing like there’s no difference between them.” And I believed them, I was like well that sucks. So I unbox these masks, and they’re all different. I guess you could say that they all have different scents, and in the box they tell you, use Lavender when you’re having a bad day, or Sweet Citrus when you’re feeling good about yourself.

These are the other three masks (going in clockwise) Cucumber Aloe, Sweet Basil Mint, and Vanilla Apricot. They all literally smell amazing, they smell exactly what their name is. For example, Cucumber Aloe smells like cucumbers, but in a good / fresh way. Oh the best part about these masks is that you keep them on for like 5-10 minutes, just like that. The first two minutes it won’t feel like anything and then all of a sudden, your skin feels like it’s tightening up which is a good thing. Usually when masks do that I’m like, yup you’re doing your job right.

Before I end this post, I just wanted to briefly talk about this brush and the towel. The only reason why I didn’t like mud masks because I was too lazy to spread it on my face with my hands and whatnot. I know that there were brushes but I was just too lazy, until I spotted the Bare Minerals mask brush at Ulta. I saw some people use it for their foundation, which is understanding because it picks up more than enough product for your face. I don’t really use that towel much, I just like to keep it their for some reason.

September Loves

“On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.”

“It’s October 3rd.”

Currently writing this post on the third even though once I publish this post, it would have been the fourth already. But anyway, yes it’s finally October, which means September is over. But the best part is that we get to all share what we loved throughout the month, so without further ado, let’s jump right into this post.

I’m going to be honest here (like always), the only reason why I bought this perfume was because Ariana Grande made it. (I didn’t care whether I liked it or not.) I was a huge and hardcore fan, like no joke. But after 6 years, I finally realized that I needed to get a life. So then this blog came to life and I regret nothing. Even though I stopped “supporting” her, I still can’t get over her perfumes. I have purchased the Sweet Like Candy one, but Ari by Ariana Grande definitely slays them all.

Now for the famous Lokai Bracelets, yes I caved in and got me one. Even though there is really nothing special about it, I think the whole idea about it is pretty interesting. I have been wearing it for the past month like crazy, I only took it off when I needed to take a shower. It kind of acts like a distraction because I always tend to take it off and play with it or I will constantly switch it between wrists.

Next up is something that I never thought I would put in my blog, let alone a monthly favorite post. In the begging, I used to hate this mascara. I always saw that it made no difference to my eyelashes and I always blamed the “bristles”. Now, I realize that it’s Roller Lash, which probably means that it’s best applied once you have curled your eyelashes. I do not plan on doing that anytime soon because, I’m too terrified. After a while, I started using it along with the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced and thought that these two together gave out the best result. So now, it’s my second favorite mascara.

When I say that this eye shadow brush changed my makeup completely, I mean that it changed my makeup look completely. I bought this brush but never really used it, how can I use this brush for my crease? It was too… stiff and weird looking. So I always opted for the more “fluffier” brush to blend in my transition colors and what not. But once I figured out how to properly use it, my makeup looked ten times better. Even my mom one day came up to me and said, “Your makeup has all of a sudden got much better.” And all thanks to this brush, it made my eyeshadow look like I had two colors, and they weren’t all  blended together creating a weird mixed color look.

I may have talked about this palette a little too much on my blog and on my Instagram (@thechicommunity), but I just can’t seem to stop reaching out for it. This is my one and only Anastasia Glow Kit, I would go out and buy all of them but here back home, we have nothing. Nada. Only a brush or two by Bare Minerals. So that’s why when I’m traveling I tend to buy anything and everything from Sephora. Moving on, I have been using this palette for my highlight for the past month and it’s just amazing. I don’t just use one color, no, I use all of them. I take my fan brush and just start swirling it in all the shade, then brushing it on my nose, cheek bones (like I have any) and my cupid’s bow. Then, I’m good to go.

Palette Fever

It’s been  a while sine I posted but I’m finally back, more inspired than ever. I came back a few days ago from Orlando and now I’m back home in my room taking pictures like there’s no tomorrow. Just a disclaimer, I am just now experiencing with the new camera and the flash kept coming on and off so sorry for the pictures that have flash and others don’t.

If you follow me on Instagram (@thechicommunity) you would do know that I have been at Sephora almost everyday this Summer, so I did some damage. My mom likes to call it, “Palette Fever’ and that’s what inspires this post.

My first palette ever, I’m just new to the whole makeup, but I have seen so many videos that i decided that I’m going to practice until I slay everyone’s makeup (that’s still in progress.) Moving on, my first palette is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar, not only are the colors super pigmented, but they smell like chocolate. Best Thing Ever. I always come back to this palette because the colors here are amazing for transition colors or just setting the primer.

I really like to mix in the white color at the top with the shade ‘Salted Caramel’ that’s on the left just to set my primer on my lids and to help make the transition and the lid color blend more smooth and easily. Over all, I think this is a great palette if you’re just starting how to do makeup, this palette has all the things you need.

If I’m being honest, I did not know that Grav3yardgirl was even going to do a palette, I do watch her youtube videos but not always. When I saw this gem at Sephora, I had to get it. There were only two left so it was now or never. The names of the shades really caught my eye, for example if you see on the left the name ‘does this thing really work?’ I just started fangirling like crazy and explained to my mom what it was about and it was worth it.

This is also a great palette because it has the mixtures of both mattes and shimmers, and you can even use some of the colors like ‘does this thing really work?’ as a blush. For all those people out there that love Grav3yardgirl, you need to add this palette to your collection.

The packaging is really what caught my eye to be honest,, (I’m a sucker for packaging). Even though this palette does not have that many shimmery shades, I use this palette constantly for transition colors. It has the best transitioning colors, especially if you’re going for a soft romantic look, this is the palette you need.

This palette is by Anastasia, and it’s called ‘Modern Renaissance’. I’m just in awe with this palette and the colors are so pigmented it’s amazing. Two sweeps of any of these colors on your crease and you’re good to go.

I have to give credit to my Mom for finding me this palette. She receives multiple emails from Sephora, and they emailed her about this palette and we just had to get it. I mean, look at this gorgeous palette. We searched high and low for Sephora and it still wasn’t there or released yet, even though the email specifically says it was released. Until we went to Ulta, that’s when we saw it, just in the middle of the store, fully stocked. This palette is just shades of glittery goodness by Urban Decay, ‘Moondust’.

What I’m disappointed about this palette is that the colors are not that pigmented. The brushes barely get any of the product from the palette (and my brushes are perfectly fine with all the other palettes.) It was much easier to use your fingers instead of the brushes, it might get messy and fallout happens everywhere. So if you’re like me and start your face makeup first then your eyes, switch that routine around for this palette. I did some research and other makeup or beauty gurus suggested the same thing, to use your fingers instead of your brushes.

And last, but certainly not least is the best highlighting palette ever created in the world of Sephora. A lot, and I mean a lot of people have been going crazy about this palette and I decided that I need to get my hands on this palette. Now I’m one of those crazy people that have been going crazy over this palette. The pigmentation of these colors are amazing and you only need one layer of this on your cheekbones or whatever and you look like you’ve spent all day on this look.

I got so excited that I didn’t even say the name of this palette, but it’s the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Palette, the packaging is so cute and simple, I just feel like it would be easier to carry around if it was the same packaging as the Anastasia highlighting palettes. Nonetheless, I am in awe and adore this palette as well as the other palettes.
