January Favorites (2017)

img_4973

Well the first month of 2017 is almost over, well we still have two weeks left but I doubt I’m going to like/try anything in those two weeks because I have exams. This favorites post is a bit shorter than usual just because it was such a hectic and crazy month, but without further ado, let’s get into it.

I’ve heard such wonderful reviews about the ABH foundation stick so the minute I went to the states, the first thing I got from Sephora was this foundation. When the lady person tried it on me, she used a brush so I was like “okay so I’ll use a brush to blend this” and when I tried it out, I used the brush. It has really good coverage and you don’t need a lot of it. I tried using a wet beauty blender but it just didn’t do the job, so I just used my Kat Von D foundation brush.

The second I saw this book in Target, I knew it will somehow make my 2017 better. I’ve been really enjoying the questions or prompts that came in the notebook, especially when I share my answers with other people. Some prompts can be lighthearted and funny, and some can be serious, so it’s a half half thing. If you like writing, I definitely recommend this book.

This planner has been keeping me sane for the past month. As you can tell by the dates and the to do lists, it’s exam season, and there was no way I could keep track of  all the dates in my head, so using this planner really helped. it is a very sturdy planner, so I don’t think it’s going to get ruined anytime soon. And like most of the stuff I own, this is from Target.

I’m literally face palming myself because I have this eyeliner in every single blog post, it’s just too amazing. Since this liner is just too amazing, I got three of them to restock and just incase, I already went through one of them. If you’re just starting out with makeup or you suck at putting on eyeliner (don’t worry! i dont know how to do my liner perfect as well) I definitely recommend this liner, worth every penny.

Palette Fever Part 2.5

img_4805

Last year I did a very similar post to this, hence the part 2 of the title. I wanted to make this post short and simple so I’m doing two parts of this series if you will. If you want to check out last years Palette Fever, then click here.

*These are not reviews because I literally just came back from the states so I couldn’t really try them out. This is just a haul.*

I may be a bit late on this trend but I had to get my hands on at least one of the sets (I couldn’t find the other two), once I saw Youtubers raving and complementing these palettes, I knew I had to get it. As you can see, there are multiple eyeshadows on there, which I think is pretty great for its price. (Especially if you’re trying to save up). It also comes with a highlighter, bronzer, and blush which is pretty great as well.

The only thing disappointing about this palette is the lack of mirror, but the packaging and the set up makes up for it.

*Do you like the pearl thing happening in the pictures? I’m sorry I was half asleep while taking these pictures.*

I love my makeup forever palettes, I think they’re the best palettes because the packaging is super simple and convenient. They didn’t need to “sugar coat” it to make it look all nice, the plainness of it is amazing. I personally really love the colors on this palette, it’s hard (well at least for me) to find mattes in these shades, they’re usually mostly shimmery shades, so it’s fun to have mattes by your side.

The minute I heard that Kat Von D and Too Faced were going to collab, I died. But then I had to force myself to rise myself from the dead so I can actually get it. So the first thing I did when I went to the states, was to get this palette, or palettes. It’s so precious that I just want to stare at it for hours on end. I especially love the notes on the sides, I think that’s just adorable.

If you’re trying to save up and you want both Kat Von D products, and Too Faced, then definitely get this palette, because it’s definitely worth every penny.

One of the major reasons that I got this palette was because of the huge mirror, I mean, look at that thing. I tried to take a picture of it with my camera, but my camera did this thing and yeah, I’m digging it. Other than the shades, the variety and amount of eyeshadows that there is on here is amazing. I have to say that some of the colors are very similar to each other, but I do the same with lipsticks, so…

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed this post because my wallet is currently crying in the corner.

Makeup Must Haves

dsc_0278

A beginner or not, I feel like these types of posts are really helpful. Either they give you a head start on what makeup products to buy, or just simply if you’re looking for something new or interesting. This post will consist of products that I think not only will make your makeup look better, but also help it last longer. So without further ado, let’s just get into this post.

Lid primers are definitely something you need to add on to your makeup routine. The first few days I did my makeup without any primer was a total nightmare. My eyeshadow would be a complete mess, my eyeshadows won’t blend in properly and the pigmentation that the makeup brand promises does not show any effect. You can either just use the lid primer and go straight to eyeshadow, or what I like to do is to set it using any light shade eyeshadow and this will help to make eyeshadow blending much easier and faster.

I would use my  beauty blender like a crazy woman when trying to blend in my lid primer. I would just stab my lid which results in hurting my eyeball, and it would leave streaks and it did just did not look good at all. I was so fed up with hurting my eyeballs that I just took my foundation brush and used it. This technique changed my life completely. It left off a smooth finish to my lids, and it was soft. Even though this is a foundation brush, it will help to blend in any cream products giving a perfect finish look.

Kat Von D Foundation Brush #10

If you don’t like liquid foundation or any foundation in a bottle really, then this product is targeting you. We’ve been across compact powders, which is basically powder that is compacted. A lot of you guys might be wondering, powders can barely have enough coverage. I though the same thing, but we thought wrong. This Smashbox powder gives you enough coverage, not too much, just enough. It helps to give off that natural look, making sure not to cover everything, because what’s natural in that? And sometimes i just like to use this to set anything really.

Speaking of setting powders, I’m pretty sure a lot of you guys have heard great reviews about the Laura Mercier setting powder and so on and so forth. So I’m not going to go into too much detail, because we all know that it does it’s job and it’s great and everyone needs it. But this powder really does brighten up my face, my face goes from dead to alive in two seconds, well technically 5 minutes. Gotta love baking you know?

I know you’re all probably over the powder products but I promise you that this is the last one. Blush is important, whether you’re going for a natural look or a night out look, you need blush. Not only are the blushes just so pretty, but it will give color to your face. That’s all I have to say about blushes.

As promised, we’re over the powder products. It’s time for some more eye products. If you have small eyes, then you would know the struggle of trying to figure out how to make them look bigger. Searching high and low on Youtube until beauty gurus start saying to use a white color for your water line. I did exactly that but I saw no result whatsoever. I decided to try out a black one, I finally realized what I was missing in my makeup look. So if you still have not tried it out, then get your hands on it or something similar.

Tarte Lash Liner

dsc_0292

Last but certainly not least, eye liner. Just like I said before about how those products complete the look, this is the same thing. If you were to compare last month’s winged eyeliner to today, then you would see a drastic change. And all thanks to this eye liner, this eye liner is great for beginners. I have tried multiple eyeliners, but this one is the best. It glides on very easily, and doesn’t move around. So if you have shaky hands, like me, then this eyeliner is perfect for you.

New Lips – Anastasia & Kat Von D

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

*Moment of realization that I’ve been buying the same two shades in every brand name.*

I feel like glosses are slowly starting to become a trend now, liquid matte lipsticks are still trending but I’ve realized that more people are starting to wear glosses more. I’ve been personally loving the Anastasia ones because their formulas are super smooth and very easy to apply.

This Anastasia lip gloss is in the shade “Tara“, it has a warm brown color which I think is the perfect color for an everyday look. If you are familiar with the Kylie Lip Kits and their smell, then you would know that these have the exact same smell. Smells like heavy vanilla, in a good way. This gloss is not sticky or anything (like the MAC or any other glosses). They have a very matte shine, it’s not too shiny but it is shiny. And one coat of this and you’re good to go.

I would describe this gloss as a metal gloss, because it looks like it is metal. This Anastasia lip gloss is in the shade “Warm Bronze“, it also is a brown color but more in the orangey side. It has that orange undertone to it. This is perfect if you’re not trying to hard on your eye makeup and you want the focus just on your lips. This one has a more shiny finish since it is a shimmer lip gloss.

I decided on getting more liquid lipsticks because why not? And besides, I needed to restock on my Lolita. As I was there, I saw “Lolita II” and I swatched it on my hand, it reminds me of the Smashbox “Driver’s Seat”. It a brown color and has an orange undertone to it. It dries up pretty fast, but does not crack as much as other matte liquid lipsticks. The formula is phenomenal, it glides on very easily and smoothly.

I had the sample size “Lolita” and I fell in love the first time I tried it on. Just like “Tara” from Anastasia, “Lolita” is perfect for an everyday look. It is a brown color with a hint of purple. Personally for me, I love dark shades but I can never rock them, and I think this shade perfectly replaces all the dark shades that I can’t seem to rock. It goes amazing with my tanned skin.

Check out my Instagram, I post on my story behind the scenes of every picture and even when I’m buying the products. (@thechicommunity)

Sephora Haul

IMG_2142

*A general idea of what I got from Sephora, no in depth pictures or detailed reviews, that is all for later. *

Warning: Sephora is a very addicting place to shop, shop at your own risk. The fact that Sephora opened up at Downtown Disney (or Disney Springs) is a huge deal. I go there almost everyday, and since Sephora is now open there, just praying for my mom and I’s wallets.

Anyways, lets get into this haul. Liquid lipsticks are a huge thing now, and Smashbox has the best ones. I got two liquid lipsticks, they’re both on the brown and orange side (I’m doing a Smashbox Review soon so stay tuned.) I also got those compact powders from them as well, I got in the shade “Light”. My mom suggested that powder foundation is better than liquid foundation for oily skin people, and she was right. To list of other things I got from Smashbox:

  • Face Primer
  • Lid Primer
  • BB Cream Under eye concealer

I stopped at the Benefit section and got the famous Porefessional, as well as the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner. I also decided to pop in the Too Faced section and omg the liquid lipsticks though. Heaven on Earth. I got the shade Child Star. (Will be doing a full on detail review on all these products.)

I got two lipstick brushed because I have been really wanting them in a very long time, they’re both from Sephora, nothing too special. I got a smaller version of the Beauty Blender (not those really tiny mini ones) but when I got back to the hotel, someone apparently opened the packaging so that sucks.

You know the cashier section line where you do your last minute shopping, my mom found these two glues, I wanna say, for when you are doing nail art, very similar to Simply Peel. I forgot to include the Origins masks, they had a 6 for $24 dollars thing going on. (They’re sample sized not the full ones)

If you are in there award thing system then you know all about the points, we had a lot of points and usually there is nothing that decent to use your points for but I saw the Tarte box and decided to try it out. So I’m not really sure if it is on sale.

A review will be coming up very soon, thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed. All the love.
