Update on The Chic Community

I have been inactive on this blog for weeks now and it honestly sucks because I really love creating these posts, but nowadays my interests have been all over the place. Basically I want to talk about more than just makeup – so thats why I’m changing this blog into a more diverse blog.

To give you an idea, expect content about art or books or writing.

Hopefully some of you won’t unfollow because I really want to open up my blog to more interests and I have met so many people on here that talk to me about books or even anime so yeah.

Get ready for a sephora haul soon!

I also have a giveaway happening if you want to check that out. (on insta @usedtobethechic)

I created a new insta acc surrounding these interests at @thechicommunity (same name – new acc)

boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser Review

I haven’t done any reviews in a while, but after some hauls, I managed to try something out for more than a week to give you a full and honest review. So without further ado, let’s start with this review.

In my opinion, I think that boscia is famous for their masks, the peel off black masks, that sometimes work great, and sometimes eh. When I tried out that mask, it only made my pores show even more, it did not remove any blackheads. So when I laid my eyes on this cleanser, I didn’t really have high hopes for it, but I needed something to wash my face with since I was constantly changing hotels.

This is what they promise you,

A black charcoal face cleanser that warms on contact and visibly reduces pore size, lifts impurities, bans excess oil, exfoliates, and brightens the complexion.

If you want to know more,

The Detoxifying Black Cleanser creates a smooth, luminous, clarified, and healthy-looking complexion. Brimming with purifying black activated charcoal and vitamin P, the active component in citrus peel, the formula warms skin on contact to open the pores, then lifts away dirt, oil, and impurities to combat acne and blemishes. Artichoke leaf extract visibly minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores instantly and over time by increasing skin elasticity to brighten and tighten the pore wall. Radiance-boosting vitamin C and exfoliating glycolic acid refine skin texture, fade dark spots, and provide antiaging and antioxidant protection. Skin is left looking and feeling smooth, even toned, and glowing.

After reading what they have to say, it sounds convincing right? I’m down for brightening the skin, minimizing pores, and getting rid of oils. So after trying out for two weeks, these are the results I get.

It definitely warms up once it had contact with your skin, not going to lie about that. And it also leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed… for like 10 minutes. I have oily skin, and this product works for all types of skin types, and when I washed my face using this cleanser, it definitely got rid of the oils from my skin, but not for a long time. I use this at night, before I go to sleep and when I wake up, my skin is still very much so super oily, maybe more than before.

So in the end, I don’t really recommend it. There are other alternatives to cleansers that remove oils from your skin and actually complete the job successfully. I wasn’t that disappointed because at the beginning I never really had high expectations or hopes for this cleanser at all.

William Sonoma’s Hot Chocolate

i know i know, it’s almost summer, but i really wanted to tell you guys how amazing this hot chocolate is. last year winter, we just kept drinking it every night. there are different flavors, there is peppermint, salted caramel, and the regular one. i am obsessed with the peppermint bark, unfortunately we finished it today.

so you basically add in milk into the pot, let it get warm, and then put in the stuff from the box and into the milk. i am nor exactly sure how much you need to put in, but it says on the box. the first time i tried it, it was light, not too creamy or whatever. the second time, we let it sit in the heat for a while and it got so much better. it was very creamy and it was just amazing. definitely try it in winter. (this may not be available anymore, sorry)

so this was the final product, it took around 5-7 minutes, but totally worth it. i used the mug from my amazon haul and i am in love with it. anyway, thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed. all the love.
