April Favorites

The only reason why I have an April Favorites post is because, 1: I got a tablet that I’m in love with, and 2: because I have a surprise at the end of this blog post so make sure you read the end of this post!

February Favorites

Most of the things that will be mentioned in this post are stuff that I have had in my room / or kept in mind to watch for some time now. Except the glasses, the glasses I have worn them ever since my mom surprised me with them.

January Favorites (2017)

Well the first month of 2017 is almost over, well we still have two weeks left but I doubt I’m going to like/try anything in those two weeks because I have exams. This favorites post is a bit shorter than usual just because it was such a hectic and crazy month, but without further ado, let’s get into it.

I’ve heard such wonderful reviews about the ABH foundation stick so the minute I went to the states, the first thing I got from Sephora was this foundation. When the lady person tried it on me, she used a brush so I was like “okay so I’ll use a brush to blend this” and when I tried it out, I used the brush. It has really good coverage and you don’t need a lot of it. I tried using a wet beauty blender but it just didn’t do the job, so I just used my Kat Von D foundation brush.

The second I saw this book in Target, I knew it will somehow make my 2017 better. I’ve been really enjoying the questions or prompts that came in the notebook, especially when I share my answers with other people. Some prompts can be lighthearted and funny, and some can be serious, so it’s a half half thing. If you like writing, I definitely recommend this book.

This planner has been keeping me sane for the past month. As you can tell by the dates and the to do lists, it’s exam season, and there was no way I could keep track of  all the dates in my head, so using this planner really helped. it is a very sturdy planner, so I don’t think it’s going to get ruined anytime soon. And like most of the stuff I own, this is from Target.

I’m literally face palming myself because I have this eyeliner in every single blog post, it’s just too amazing. Since this liner is just too amazing, I got three of them to restock and just incase, I already went through one of them. If you’re just starting out with makeup or you suck at putting on eyeliner (don’t worry! i dont know how to do my liner perfect as well) I definitely recommend this liner, worth every penny.

October Favorites

October has been one crazy month for me, the amount of tests and projects I received in one month, like teachers need to take a chill pill. October was the month for me to reuse or rediscover old things that I have bought and used for a little but then left it in a deep dark hole.

One of my favorites has to be this book written by my favorite author, Cassandra Clare. She just now (aka like 7 months ago) released a new series called The Dark Artifices. I won’t say too much but I definitely recommend it if you have read the Infernal Devices as well as the Mortal Instruments.

Lady Midnight

Lady Midnight is a young adult urban fantasy novel by Cassandra Clare. It is the first book in The Dark Artifices, the third, chronologically fourth series of the Shadowhunter Chronicles

At first I hated this primer, well hate is such a strong word. I disliked it, it was just not my cup of tea. After using it for a while, I realized how light weight it is. It made sure my eyeshadow or my eyeliner budge around or anything. It also really helped to make the eyeshadow pigment much more stronger. I might be comparing this eye primer with something else, maybe just maybe.

If you’ve been following my blog for more than 5 months, then you would know that I did a review over Fresh Farmacy a while back. I kind of neglected it after publishing that post, but this month I used it like crazy. I use this after I come back from school, really helps to remove all that dirt and excess oil from school in the simplest and fastest way possible.

Right after I took this picture, half an hour later I hit pan with the shade ‘Vermeer’. But anyway, I know I have talked about this palette like 5 times now, but I’m just obsessed with it. All the colors are beautiful, you can create any look with it. I always reach out to this palette when I need a transition color, or to just set my eye lid primer.

Last but certainly not least, the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face wash, as well I have talked about it before on here. Basically, this will leave your skin feeling amazing. It has that minty smell to it and silvery look to it. I really like it, especially for the night. It’s not too harsh and it’s just perfect for the night to remove excess makeup or oils.

BTW, thank you so much for 700 followers! I honestly didn’t think I would get 20 followers, let alone 700. These past 7 months have been the best and I have met so many lovely people here. All the love and support!

September Loves

“On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.”

“It’s October 3rd.”

Currently writing this post on the third even though once I publish this post, it would have been the fourth already. But anyway, yes it’s finally October, which means September is over. But the best part is that we get to all share what we loved throughout the month, so without further ado, let’s jump right into this post.

I’m going to be honest here (like always), the only reason why I bought this perfume was because Ariana Grande made it. (I didn’t care whether I liked it or not.) I was a huge and hardcore fan, like no joke. But after 6 years, I finally realized that I needed to get a life. So then this blog came to life and I regret nothing. Even though I stopped “supporting” her, I still can’t get over her perfumes. I have purchased the Sweet Like Candy one, but Ari by Ariana Grande definitely slays them all.

Now for the famous Lokai Bracelets, yes I caved in and got me one. Even though there is really nothing special about it, I think the whole idea about it is pretty interesting. I have been wearing it for the past month like crazy, I only took it off when I needed to take a shower. It kind of acts like a distraction because I always tend to take it off and play with it or I will constantly switch it between wrists.

Next up is something that I never thought I would put in my blog, let alone a monthly favorite post. In the begging, I used to hate this mascara. I always saw that it made no difference to my eyelashes and I always blamed the “bristles”. Now, I realize that it’s Roller Lash, which probably means that it’s best applied once you have curled your eyelashes. I do not plan on doing that anytime soon because, I’m too terrified. After a while, I started using it along with the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced and thought that these two together gave out the best result. So now, it’s my second favorite mascara.

When I say that this eye shadow brush changed my makeup completely, I mean that it changed my makeup look completely. I bought this brush but never really used it, how can I use this brush for my crease? It was too… stiff and weird looking. So I always opted for the more “fluffier” brush to blend in my transition colors and what not. But once I figured out how to properly use it, my makeup looked ten times better. Even my mom one day came up to me and said, “Your makeup has all of a sudden got much better.” And all thanks to this brush, it made my eyeshadow look like I had two colors, and they weren’t all  blended together creating a weird mixed color look.

I may have talked about this palette a little too much on my blog and on my Instagram (@thechicommunity), but I just can’t seem to stop reaching out for it. This is my one and only Anastasia Glow Kit, I would go out and buy all of them but here back home, we have nothing. Nada. Only a brush or two by Bare Minerals. So that’s why when I’m traveling I tend to buy anything and everything from Sephora. Moving on, I have been using this palette for my highlight for the past month and it’s just amazing. I don’t just use one color, no, I use all of them. I take my fan brush and just start swirling it in all the shade, then brushing it on my nose, cheek bones (like I have any) and my cupid’s bow. Then, I’m good to go.
