Tarte Tartiest Pro Amazonian Clay Palette Review

I’d be lying if I said that I have been keeping up with this blog for the past few weeks. So in order to make up the neglected time, I decided to come back to The Chic Community with a review, because who doesn’t love some good ol’ reviews?

After settling in for a new semester in school, and getting rid of things that have distracted me, I can finally be as active as I was to blogging.

When I saw this palette in Sephora, I was debating whether or not to get this palette. Thank God I did. The reason why I wasn’t so sure or keen to buying this palette, was because most of the shades were quite similar to ones I already own. For example those burgundy purpley shades could be found in my Modern Renaissance ABH Palette, or those brown shades in my Graveyardgirl palette. But I was like, “I’m buying this for the blog.” I needed an excuse okay?

When I say the matte shades are pigmented, I do really mean that they are pigmented. Their pigmentation is above and beyond, couldn’t have asked for better shades. But, I cannot say the same for the shimmer shades.

One of the things that caught my eye while debating whether or not to get this palette were the shimmer shades. I only own one palette that has all mattes, it was because of the packaging  and the name. But all my palettes have shimmer shades, any makeup look that I have or create has to have some sort of shimmer to it.

I was really looking forward towards the shimmers, but like most shimmers, they were hard to pick up with my brush. I drowned my brush with setting spray, still barely any product. I hate using my fingers, I feel like I have no control and it goes everywhere and I have to clean it up with more blending… that’s a whole other story.

Overall, I think the matte shades are super pigmented, and you have to be gentle with the dark shades, too much will mess you up. Like the saying goes, “A little goes a long way.”

One quick tip with this palette, if you add on multiple layers of shimmers, to get the perfect pigmentation (a mistake I always do) just keep in mind that the eyeliner will not show up as much. Y’all know my love for Kat Von D’s Trooper’s eyeliner, and that eyeliner barely showed up with the amount of eyeshadow on my lids. So you have to be careful.

Packaging is amazing, the simplicity and the elegancy is what makes it unique. You got the big mirror and the multiple shades, what more do you want? My only complaint for the packaging is when the light reflects on the metallic places from the palette, it reflects back to the mirror which will blind your eye. It makes it hard for you to see yourself anymore and it’s just a chaos.

But honestly, I definitely recommend getting this palette, it’s definitely worth every penny. Especially with the huge amounts of eyeshadows they offer.
